アンリ・マティス

アンリ・マティス風に画を描くも、似ても似つかない。とりあえずシンプルに。

アンリ・マティスの晩年の作品は切り絵だったんだね。「線の単純化、色彩の純化を追求した結果、切り絵に到達（wikipediaより）」らしい。この無駄を排除したシンプルさ好きだ。彼の最後の一枚は、白紙に黒の線のみで描かれた木。一見無色に見えるが、色を追求した画家マティス曰く「余白も色だ」とのこと。着飾らない美しさ「侘び寂び」文化の日本的だと勝手ながら思った。千利休と気が合っただろうな。

友人に「アンリ・マティスって画家は君が好きそうだからチェックした方が良いよ」と、一昔前に言われたこと思い出した。

I draw a picture like Henri Matisse. But it doesn't look like. Only it is simple...

It is paper cutouts that Henri Matisse's works of later years. "He pursued simple of lines and colors, so he discovered paper cutouts. (on wikipedia)" I like the simple style. His last drawing

was tree by black line on white paper. It looks drawing is not colors. But he say "the blank is color, too." Simple is beautiful. It 's same that Japanese culture "Wabi-Sabi". So I think Matisse and Sen-no-Rikyu will like each other.

I remember now my friend's comment "You should check Henri Matisse's works, because I think you will like his works."
